Fans were left puzzled when Park Bom did not join her fellow 2NE1 members: CL, Sandara Park, and Gong Minzy, on stage at the Head In The Clouds LA 2025 festival. Now, it has been confirmed that the singer was not even in the United States at the time of the performance, but had already returned to Korea.

According to a Star News report on June 4, Park Bom had completed her activities in Los Angeles and returned to Korea in mid-May. However, a social media post from May 21, where she captioned photos with “Park Bom in LA,” led fans to believe she was still in the U.S.

2NE1’s Post-Concert Moment That Stole the Show

The timing of this post coinciding with 2NE1‘s June 1 performance created a wave of misunderstanding about her whereabouts and intentions.

Speculation swirled online about the possibility of 2NE1 promoting as a three-member unit going forward. Meanwhile, the three performing members shared behind-the-scenes group shots from LA, captioning them with messages like “Thank you LA,” “Thank you Los Angeles, thank you Blackjacks,” and “Ain’t never gonna stop,” fueling further curiosity about Bom’s absence.

While some fans worried about Bom’s well-being, given past reports of psychological instability, her agency, D-Nation Entertainment, clarified the situation in an official statement on May 28. They explained that her absence was due to personal scheduling conflicts and had been mutually agreed upon in advance with the other members.

“Due to personal circumstances, Park Bom will not be participating in the festival performance. After careful discussion, it was decided she would not go on stage. We ask for your understanding,” the statement read.

Importantly, the group’s bond remains strong. Park Bom’s May 24 post, “On my way to a 2NE1 gathering,” reminded fans of their continued closeness. Although some assumed the group reunion happened in the U.S., reports confirm that the full-member meetup took place in Korea before the LA show.

Currently, all four 2NE1 members are signed to different agencies, making joint promotions challenging. However, the group has managed to align their schedules for special appearances, including their recent world tour, which ended with encore concerts in April at Seoul’s KSPO DOME titled WELCOME BACK.
